Birth of Joris Tumas

Being pregnant for the first time was magic for me, but being pregnant in quarantine was daunting sometimes. I learned the "doula" term just a few months before getting pregnant and I learned it from Ugne. Little did I know that this knowledge will lead me to wonderful sisterhood in preparation for motherhood. Udodoula became my distant doula and I was getting stronger and feeling more confident after each call or voice message. I was learning about woman's body and mind, the power we have within and how much distraction is around us, especially in our birthing journeys. Ugne has so much knowledge and experience not only as doula but more importantly as the mother of three. I feel that Ugne was holding my hand throughout my pregnancy all the way to the birthday of my little one. She was there with us even during the labor and that's the power of distant doula! I feel very lucky and grateful for the support, knowledge and love we got. I hope more women can experience such sisterhood in preparation for the wonder of birthing.
